Great prawns

Not a huge bag but the prawns are perfect size. Very tasty and handy to keep in the freezer for a quick meal.

awful

Chewy, not meaty. Gelatinous prawns that dont even taste nice. Apparently have some chemical in them based on other reviews

terrible odour

On opening this bag of prawns there was an instant, quite revolting odour of rotten fish. Didn't even try to defrost, straight into bin.

Prawns that contain additive

I grew up by the sea, so I am very picky when it comes to seafood. In this country I know that I cannot expect that same freshness as that I had in my childhood, therefore when it comes to prawns, all I ask for is reasonably fresh, with no dodgy additives to bulk them up or beautify them. For this reason I take issues with this Bangladeshi prawns. They have added sodium triphosphate as a stabiliser. What does it do? It helps retaining water content, that is why these prawns dont shrink. To me, when I saw how glassy they were when cooked, and felt the bouncy texture, I knew they had some form of alkaline in them, like those served in Chinese restaurants. That is a big no-no to me. I would never buy them again.

Hair in prawns

Found a thick black hair stuck between several prawns, took a photo and emailed the company. No response. Thankfully Ocado refunded and apologised on their behalf. Would not recommend.
