HOW IT WORKS
SmoothSkin's IPL technology is one of the fastest and most powerful for home use. The compact SmoothSkin Pure Mini emits a flash of light, which is absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft and converted into heat energy. Over the course of the 12 weeks of treatment, the targeted hair follicles die and result in permanent hair reduction.
A built-in 3mm UV filter blocks the skin from harmful rays, while Patented Smart Skin Sensing Technology reads your skin tone to ensure a safe and tailored treatment.
With 2 modes to choose from; ‘Gentle’ and ‘Power,’ you can adjust the energy output and number of flashes depending on your goals.

HOW TO USE
Step 1: Ensure your skin tone and hair colour is suitable for treatment using the Fitzpatrick Scale below.
Step 2: Prepare the treatment area by cleansing, patting dry and removing visible hair with a razor.
Step 3: Patch test the device on your skin and wait 24 hours.
Step 4: Plug in and power on the SmoothSkin Pure Mini.
Step 5: Press the window flat against your skin and press the activation button.
Step 6: Move to the next area and repeat Step 5.

WHO CAN USE SMOOTHSKIN PURE MINI?
SmoothSkin Pure Mini IPL Hair Removal Device is suitable for those with skin type I to V on the Fitzpatrick Scale. It is not suitable for use on white, grey or red hair.
IPL technology is based on the relationship between melanin in the skin and in hair. It can be ineffective on white, grey or red hair. Since grey and white hair do not contain enough (or any) melanin, IPL treatments will never work on these hair colours. Red hair contains a different type of melanin, which is also not responsive to IPL.
IPL is unsafe for deep-skinned users, as skin rich in melanin could absorb more than the safe amount of energy.

Contraindications:
DO NOT try to open SMOOTHSKIN, as this may expose you to dangerous electrical components.
DO NOT use if SMOOTHSKIN is damaged; for example, cracked handset, cable damage (internal wires visible), cracked or broken glass on the handset, etc. This may result in injury.
DO NOT use near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water. If SMOOTHSKIN becomes wet, it should not be used.
DO NOT use if SMOOTHSKIN becomes uncomfortably hot to touch. This may indicate that the unit is damaged.
DO NOT use on areas with semi-permanent makeup or tattooed skin. This may cause irritation.
DO NOT use a power supply or other component, other than those provided for use with SMOOTHSKIN. This may damage the unit and cause it to stop working.
DO NOT attempt to activate (flash) SMOOTHSKINbonto any surface other than skin. WARNING no modification of this equipment is allowed.
DO NOT position SMOOTHSKIN so that it is difficult to disconnect from the mains supply.
DO NOT USE if you have had a skin peel treatment on the area you wish to treat. Please wait 30 days after a skin peel before treating with SMOOTHSKIN. Treating tanned skin with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) may result in permanent Hyperpigmentation (Darkening) or Hypopigmentation (lightening) of the treated skin.
DO NOT USE If you have a known sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity) or are taking medication that makes the skin more sensitive and causes photosensitivity, and/or topical retinoids. Always check the instruction leaflet that comes with your medicinal product, to see if photosensitivity is listed as a side effect. Use of SMOOTHSKIN on photosensitive skin could result in skin damage such as swelling or blisters.
SMOOTHSKIN should be kept out of the reach of children under 18 years of age. Children should not use, play with, maintain or clean the device. There are a number of potential risks – exposure to the light output causing burns or eye damage, electrocution, strangulation from the cables.
SMOOTHSKIN hould be kept out of reach of pets and pests which could damage the device. Potential risks include reduced function and electrocution.
SMOOTHSKIN is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities. Unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning safe and proper use of the device by a person responsible for their safety.
SMOOTHSKIN glass filter is a critical component that will get hot during use.
DO NOT touch the filter during or directly after use. Regularly inspect the filter for damage.
DO NOT use SMOOTHSKIN if the filter is cracked or missing. Ensure that SMOOTHSKIN treatment window is clean and free from debris. Any debris on or around the treatment window during operation may result in temporary skin changes such as redness or swelling.
Hair removal by lasers or intense pulse light sources can cause increased hair growth in some individuals. Based upon currently available data, the highest risk groups for this response are females of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and South Asian heritage treated on the face and neck.
DO NOT use SMOOTHSKIN on any area where you may want hair to grow back.
DO NOT use SMOOTHSKIN device on man's face, jaw, or neck. The hair in a man's beard area is too dense and using SMOOTHSKIN device in these areas may result in skin injury.
SMOOTHSKIN is not recommended for use on red, grey or blonde hair.
SMOOTHSKIN is not effective on these hair colours.

I’m following the shave+laser 1x a week for 12 week regime and after 3 weeks I have so little hair growth between sessions. 10 years ago I paid thousands for hair removal laser treatments at my dermatologist and then had a baby and all my hair grew back while pregnant. Thought I’d try this before heading back to the Derm and I’m blown away that the results are exactly like the big machines that cost thousands and require a trek to the office every few weeks. I do this from home, it takes maybe 15 min to do most of my body and it truly doesn’t hurt whereas the Dr office one was very painful! Win all around.
