    This is my first makeup blender of any kind so I'm not sure how it stands up as a dupe against others. I can say that if you have an uneven/porous skin texture which causes your foundation to cake or get lost in your pores, this will be an excellent product to prevent that, as it helps to spread product evenly. Soak in lukewarm water until it puffs up a bit, squeeze out excess so that it is slightly moist but NOT dripping. You also do not want it to be anywhere close dry or else you are just soaking up product. I find it works best when I apply dabs of my foundation to the skin, LIGHTLY working it in with my ring finger first, and then blending out using the blender. As other reviewers have pointed out, the flat end can be used on the cheeks and flat surfaces of your face while the conal end can be used around the eyes and those kind of tricky areas. If you want your blender to go a long way without breaking off or staining, you need to WASH IT after every use. I use Mona Lisa's Pink Soap (found in most art department stores), or any soap that is specifically made for cleaning art supplies, as using regular soap can cause breakage. Overall I am happy with this purchase and the price is so worth the payoff. Thanks, Real Techniques.
