    Ideal whisky for the “peat curious”, this has a really nicely balanced profile of sweet and smoky flavours which is really accessible for new and seasoned whisky drinkers. I personally don’t like the very peaty whiskies like Laphroig which tastes like burning tyres to me, but this gives you a nice hit without being over bearing. Glen Morangie was my favourite, now it’s this.

    Me hace mucha gracia que, en tiempos recientes, Diageo tuviera que cambiar el etiquetado de este whisky de «procedente de la única destilería en la Isla de Skye» a «procedente de la destilería más antigua de la Isla de Skye» desde que Torabhaig les quitara la exclusividad.

    Talisker 10 es, en cualquier caso, una de las etiquetas más famosas de scotch de los llamados whiskies de turba y salinos. Es testimonio de la escasa popularidad de estos whiskies el que en un lineal de gran superficie es muy raro encontrar scotch con este perfil de sabor: tal vez alguna botella de Lagavulin o Johnnie Walker Green Label (ni me mientes la etiqueta Double Black), pero a mi juicio es la expresión más original de esta bebida alcohólica.

    Tan famosa como es, nunca antes había probado Talisker. En mis whiskies de turba figuran el mencionado Lagavulin y la Green Label (que es solamente con ligero sabor a turba, pero vale), Ardberg, Laphroaig… Por alguna razón, esperaba un sabor a turba como el de los anteriores y muy salino (la leyenda de esta etiqueta es «Made by the sea» al fin y al cabo) pero no, no lo es en absoluto. Redunda en su beneficio y es un trago estupendo, pero no vayas equivocado como yo esperándote un fuerte sabor y aroma a humo y algas.

    A pesar de estar envejecido un mínimo de 10 años, Talisker 10 presenta un elevado perfil alcohólico de 45.8%, algo que opino siempre redunda en beneficio del consumidor: estás comprando más whisky y menos agua. Al probarlo entiendo que diluirlo hasta los 40% mataría notablemente el sabor. Su paladar es muy equilibrado, logrando tener notas de sal y humo que no se imponga al sabor que aporta a pimienta y un extraño dulzor ausente en otros whiskies con sabor a turba. Así, entiendo ahora su fama de scotch «accesible» para aquellos que quieran iniciarse y conocer qué tiene de especial esta bebida.

    Como nota personal, al principio de probar este whisky no me gustó en exceso por esperarme otro perfil de sabor. Al volver a es botella pasado un tiempo, aprecié mucho mejor sus virtudes y por qué es considerado un clásico. Te invito a probarlo si buscas un whisky complejo, rico en matices, donde no hay una nota predominante que domine a las demás.

    - toller, kräftiger Geschmack, viel Eichenholz und etwas Rauch
    - angemessener Preis
    - 45,8 % alc, also sehr hochwertig, untypisch in diesem Preissegment

    Und auch die anderen Talisker Whiskys sind sehr gut.

    The perfect drink on a cold night with a fabulous overall warm peat character, finely balanced with a lingering sweeter finish. Fruit and hints of brine somehow come through the bold smoky bulk of the flavour. Pretty unique experience if you ask me, and at the price this is a great way to get into more complex whisky and it's my go-to offering for a sip with visitors who are whisky fans or express an interest. After holidaying near the Talisker distillery on the Isle of Skye and witnessing the breathtaking views of the sky merging with the rugged coastline, rocky hills, and waves crashing against the shore, I keep coming back to this whisky. It takes me back to that mesmerising experience.

    Mi dichiaro ormai convinto fan della distilleria Talisker da qualche anno, e forse il Talisker 10 va dritto verso la vetta del mio personalissimo podio del "Single Malt Scotch Whisky" contest...
    Anche qui profumo intenso di torba e di fumo, di legno, sale e mare, e non potrebbe essere altrimenti.
    In questo caso peró i 10 anni passati nelle botti di rovere americano si fanno sentire, e il che è un pregio evidente, perché il risultato è un equilibrio delicato, quasi perfetto.
    Al palato si scorge anche un leggero sentore di spezie, in lontananza ma percettibile.
    Ma dove si sfiora la Poesia è in quello che ti lascia, il segno che rimane nei recettori appena finito il bicchiere. Serenità leggera, ma avvolgente, che ti porta per un attimo sull'isola di Skye battuta da un vento teso e freddo, ma non tempestoso stavolta.
    Meno ruggente e spigoloso del Talisker Storm, che comunque rimane il primo amore.
    Ancora grazie comunque... forse anche per via del Tempo che passa, quando si è in compagnia di un amico vero e del Talisker 10, il mondo sembra un posto migliore.

    Qualità/prezzo senza paragoni, per un competitor credibile si deve cambiare fascia e spendere di piú, molto di piú. Al limite dei sensi di colpa. Ad oggi il Talisker migliore, 57° North e Special Release a parte, of course...
