Une proposition pluridisciplinaire et participative de Kitty Hartl.
Le parvis de l’Hôtel de Ville se métamorphose, de 19 h à 21 h, en un lieu de partage et de rencontre où se réunissent des créatures hybrides et de surprenants animaux. La place devient une étrange jungle où les arts foisonnent, où le design rencontre la musique et la performance.
Fredun Shapur, en collaboration avec Mira Shapur

Design : costumes à destination des enfants de 6 à 10 ans.
Entre les années 1960 et 1980, le designer Fredun Shapur (1929-2019) a créé une œuvre protéiforme au graphisme coloré et épuré, resté étonnamment moderne. Les jouets qu’il a conçus, pour des fabricants tels que Naef, Galt Toys et Creative Playthings, témoignent du regard audacieux et inventif qu’il a porté sur l’enfance.
Ses déguisements Playsack, réalisés à partir de sacs en papier, figurant toutes sortes d’animaux (léopard, zèbre, renard, ours, lion, panda, singe, tigre, cochon, chouette, lapin et grenouille), font partie de ses créations les plus emblématiques, improvisés par l’artiste pour ses propres enfants. Leur design est innovant, par sa spontanéité, son humour et son économie de moyens.
La réédition des Playsack, 55 ans après leur création, en collaboration avec Mira Shapur, fille de l’artiste, offre une opportunité inédite de réunir à nouveau les douze animaux de sa formidable invention.
Pendant Nuit Blanche, les enfants sont invités à venir chercher et à enfiler un costume, véritable œuvre d’art à porter et à emporter, pour se transformer en un ensemble de petites créatures animalières.
En collaboration avec Piqpoq et Éditions MeMo, qui ont chacun contribué à la redécouverte de Fredun Shapur en éditant une monographie, des puzzles et des livres jeunesse.
La Danse des lions
Performance acrobatique.
Dans un costume de lion stylisé, danseurs et acrobates imitent les mouvements de l’animal. Danse traditionnelle de la culture chinoise et d'Asie, ces performances acrobatiques au fort pouvoir symbolique fascinent et apportent bonne fortune. Elles célèbrent, le temps de la nuit, un monde hybride, mi-humain, mi-animal.

Yétis Pop
Design textile mobile.
Une vingtaine de créatures hybrides, colorées et farfelues, juchées sur des rollers, sillonnent le parvis à travers le public. Des performances ludiques et surprenantes, où les corps sont en mouvement et les costumes chatoyants.
À partir de 21 h, les Yétis Pop se dispersent sur les rives de Seine et accompagnent les fanfares dans leurs déplacements endiablés.
Costumes initialement créés par Gregg Bréhin, du collectif Yodel, dans le cadre de la Nuit du Voyage à Nantes 2019.Avec la participation de Pari Roller et Mobilités.

LES FANFARES
TechnoBrass
Réunissant des musiciens de la scène électro et du carnaval alternatif de Rio, ce septet hors du commun venu tout droit de Rio de Janeiro mélange la chaleur des cuivres à la puissance des beats répétitifs.
Avec ses compositions originales, hypnotiques et contagieuses, TechnoBrass réveille nos instincts primitifs et nous conduit inexorablement vers une danse aussi exaltante qu’insoupçonnée.

Green Line Marching Band
Né en 2019, Green Line Marching Band est une fanfare articulée autour du combo guitare-basse-batterie-clavier-chant, un super band constitué du meilleur de la scène rock nantaise d’aujourd’hui. Au fil d’une déambulation au long cours, le régiment électrique et costumé ainsi formé s’amuse à reprendre des standards, connus ou non, de la planète pop. L’important pour le public n’est pas de connaître ou reconnaître tel ou tel tube, mais bel et bien de marcher dans les pas d’une fanfare aussi folle que surprenante et entraînante.

From 7pm to 9pm,
the square in front of the Hôtel de Ville is transformed into a place of
sharing and meeting where hybrid creatures and surprising animals gather. The
place becomes a strange jungle where arts flourish, where design meets music
and performance.

Between the 1960s
and 1980s, the designer Fredun Shapur (1929-2019) created a multifaceted work
with colorful and streamlined graphics that remains surprisingly modern. The
toys he designed for manufacturers such as Naef, Galt Toys, and Creative
Playthings are testament to his bold and inventive take
on childhood.
His Playsack
costumes, made from paper bags and featuring all kinds of animals (leopard,
zebra, fox, bear, lion, panda, monkey, tiger, pig, owl, rabbit, and frog), are
among his most iconic creations, improvised by the artist for his own children.
Their design is innovative, with spontaneity, humor, and resourcefulness.
The reissue of
Playsack, 55 years after their creation, in collaboration with Mira Shapur, the
artist's daughter, offers a unique opportunity to bring together the twelve
animals of his fantastic invention once again.
During Nuit
Blanche, children are invited to come and pick up and wear a costume, a real work of art to be
worn and taken
away, and transform themselves into a set of
small animal creatures. In collaboration with Piqpoq and Éditions MeMo, who
have each contributed to the rediscovery of Fredun Shapur by publishing a
monograph, puzzles, and children's books.
The Lion Dance
Acrobatic
performance.
In a stylized lion
costume, dancers and acrobats imitate the movements of the animal. As a traditional dance from Chinese and Asian culture,
these acrobatic performances with strong symbolic power fascinate and bring
good fortune. They celebrate, for one night, a hybrid
world: part-human, part-animal.
Yétis Pop
Mobile textile design.
Around twenty hybrid, colorful and whimsical creatures,
perched on rollerblades,
roam the square among the public. In playful and surprising performances, bodies are in motion and costumes are shimmering. From 9pm, the Yétis Pop
disperse along the banks of the Seine and accompany the brass bands in their frenzied movements. Costumes
originally created by Gregg Bréhin, from the Yodel collective, as part of the
Nuit du Voyage à Nantes 2019. With the participation of Pari Roller and
Mobilités.
The Fanfares (Brass Bands/Marching Bands)
TechnoBrass
Bringing together
musicians from the electro scene and the alternative carnival of Rio, this
extraordinary septet from Rio de Janeiro combines the warmth of brass instruments with the power of repetitive beats. With
its original, hypnotic, and contagious compositions, TechnoBrass awakens our
primitive instincts and leads us inexorably towards a dance as exhilarating as
it is unexpected.
Green Line
Marching Band
Born in 2019,
Green Line Marching Band is a marching band built around a
guitar-bass-drums-keyboard-vocal combo, a super band made
up of the best of today's Nantes rock scene. During a long procession, the electric and costumed regiment playfully
covers both known and unknown pop standards.
The important thing for the audience is not to know or recognize any specific
hit, but to walk in the footsteps of a band
as crazy as it is surprising and captivating.
→ From 9pm to 1am,
join the marching bands for several sets, along with the Yétis Pop, on the
banks of the Seine (between the Tuileries tunnel and the Henri IV tunnel).
